Numbering range information

1 April 1998 - extra digit added to subscriber numbers

Subscriber numbers on Faroe Islands are now 6 digits in length. A digit was prepended to the former 5-digit subscriber numbers. The bulletin describing this change indicates there was no permissive period - that is, 5-digit numbers were invalid as of the 1 April 1998 introduction of the 6-digit system.
